VIU Conference Funding

2023|24 Deadlines

September 22, 2023, for conferences between May 1 and December 31, 2023 (Applications open on July 31).

January 19, 2024, for conferences between September 1, 2023, and April 30, 2024.

May 17, 2024, for conferences between January 1 and August 31, 2024.

Students use the same application for all funding types listed below (Student Travel and Conference and Jessica Wilde).

Eligibility

Students may receive conference funding once per academic year (Sept 1 - Aug 31) for one event
Students must be actively presenting at the event
Materials presented must be those produced in the student's graduate program
Funds cannot be used where participation at a conference is required as a prerequisite to receiving course credits
Current VIU graduate student, or event dates are with 12 months of receiving VIU graduate credential

Funding Available

Please note amounts listed are the maximum available. Actual amounts are determined by funding levels and the number of applications. For destination-based funding, expenses may include travel, food, accommodation, and registration.
