Jarislowsky Chair in Political Leadership

Vancouver Island University (VIU) invites applications from outstanding academics to be the inaugural Jarislowsky Chair in Political Leadership. Supported by a $4 million endowment from the Jarislowsky Foundation and Vancouver Island University, this prestigious appointment is one of five new endowed chairs at liberal arts and science universities across Canada who will form the first-ever network of its kind focused on educating tomorrow’s leaders in government, politics and the public service.

VIU’s Jarislowsky Chair in Political Leadership will be an eminent scholar of political ethics and governance appointed as a faculty member in the Department of Political Studies. The inaugural Chair term will be for five years with the possibility of renewal for one additional five-year term. The appointment will commence September 1, 2022 or thereafter.
