NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships-Doctoral program (PGS-D)

What is it? PGS D program provides financial support to high-calibre scholars who are engaged in an eligible doctoral program in the natural sciences or engineering. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies and seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields.
How much is it worth? $21,000 per year for three years
What is the deadline? October 17 (directly to NSERC)
Am I eligible? To be eligible to apply, an applicant must: (1) be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, as of the application deadline date; (2) have completed no more than 24 months of full-time study in their doctoral program by December 31 of the year of application (no more than 36 months if transferred directly from Bachelors to a PhD or enrolled in a joint program); (3) submit only one doctoral award application in a given academic year. Nominations to the Vanier CGS program do not count towards this limit; (4) not have already received a doctoral-level scholarship or fellowship from CIHR, NSERC or SSHRC.

Canada Graduate Scholarship - Doctoral program (CGS-D)

What is it? The objectives of the CGS D program are to reward and retain top-level graduate students at Canadian institutions, to enable a high-quality research training experience for award holders and to foster impacts within and beyond the research environment.
How much is it worth? $35,000 per year for 36 months
What is the deadline? October 17
Am I eligible? To be eligible to apply, an applicant must: (1) be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, as of the application deadline date; (2) have completed no more than 24 months of full-time study in their doctoral program by December 31 of the year of application (no more than 36 months if transferred directly from Bachelors to a PhD or enrolled in a joint program); (3) submit only one doctoral award application in a given academic year. Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships

What is it? The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship (Vanier CGS) program helps Canadian institutions attract highly qualified doctoral students.
How much is it worth? Valued at $50,000 per year for three years during doctoral studies
What is the deadline? Consult nominating institution for submission deadline.
Am I eligible? Candidates must be nominated by a Canadian institution with a quota.
