The Bene fellowship, a bequest from the estate of John G. Bene, is offered annually to Canadians and permanent residents of Canada pursuing master’s or doctoral studies at a Canadian university. We offer this fellowship to facilitate field research on the relationship between forest resources and the social, economic, cultural and environmental welfare of people in developing countries, particularly in the face of changing climate conditions. The successful candidate will propose research that benefits less privileged people in developing countries, focusing on women and Indigenous people, aiming to increase the resilience of individuals and forest communities facing difficult contexts and challenges. Note that work focused on genomics and/or genetic modification is not eligible.

The Laura Bassi Scholarship was established by Editing Press in 2018 to provide editorial assistance to postgraduates and junior academics whose research focuses on neglected topics of study within their disciplines. The scholarships are open to every discipline.

The Soroptimist Foundation of Canada annually offers several grants to female graduate students in Canada who are pursuing careers that focus on improving the quality of women’s lives.

D5020 (Vancover Island Rotary) funds one District Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship (DRAS) for one year of study in a post-baccalaureate program related to the Object of Rotary or the new Mission of The Rotary Foundation.

McCall MacBain Scholars connect with mentors and participate in an interdisciplinary leadership program while pursuing a fully funded master's or professional degree at McGill University.
