Awards you can use as a grad student at VIU
The Laura Bassi Scholarship was established by Editing Press in 2018 to provide editorial assistance to postgraduates and junior academics whose research focuses on neglected topics of study within their disciplines. The scholarships are open to every discipline.

Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships support students in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health-related fields with leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement.
Value: $50,000 annually
Deadline: Consult nominating institution for submission deadline. Expect early fall.
Availability: Graduate (PhD level).
The CGS D program supports high-calibre students engaged in doctoral programs in all academic disciplines.
Value: $35,000 per year for up to 3 years

D5020 (Vancover Island Rotary) funds one District Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship (DRAS) for one year of study in a post-baccalaureate program related to the Object of Rotary or the new Mission of The Rotary Foundation.
Value: $15,000 USD, potentially more

Availability: Graduate; DRAS scholars are required to study in a country other than Canada or the USA.

McCall MacBain Scholars connect with mentors and participate in an interdisciplinary leadership program while pursuing a fully funded master's or professional degree at McGill University.
Value: The scholarship covers tuition and fees for the full normal duration of the master's or professional program, a living stipend of $2,000 CAD per month during academic terms, and a relocation grant for moving to Montréal. Finalist and Regional Award also available.
Deadline: Applications are closed for September 2023 admission.
