Empowering Students to Gain Conference Experiences

Empowering students to share their learning at a public forum gives them the opportunity to demonstrate several transferable skillsets. It also impacts their self-efficacy, sense of belonging and perception of the curriculum which are all really important for retention! 

VIU hosts a large student conference every April called CREATE which is geared to support students at all levels share their scholarship, research and creative activities. Many instructors and faculty use assessment artifacts in their courses that students can take directly to CREATE. 

Join us at this session where VIU's Student Research Engagement Coordinator will introduce knowledge mobilization support in general for your students, and then cover more in-depth how you can help encourage and facilitate your students to attend CREATE.
