Open House

The Deep Bay Marine Field Station will be open to the public from 1 to 3 PM on Friday, November 1, 2024.
This open house is intended to facilitate members of the public who would like to view the Pentlatch fish trap panel, which is undergoing restoration at the station until the end of this year. Visitors will be able to get a close-up look at this unique 550 year-old object of cultural significance to K'ómoks and Qualicum First Nations, and watch an interpretive video created by K'ómoks First Nation archeologist Lia Tarle.
All public areas of the station will be open for viewing, such as our whale skeletons and microscope station, with public education staff on hand to answer questions about research and other activities happening at the station. Our aquarium and touch tanks will be on hand for those people who would like to get up close and personal with local species of marine invertebrates.
Registration is not required - you can drop in.
Admission is by donation.
