Habitat: Rocky intertidal areas and floating docks, down to 55 metres deep.

Description: The body grows to 5 to 10 cm in length and has five rows of non-retractile tube feet give it a spiny look. The two ventral tentacles are smaller than the other eight.

Distribution: Alaska to northern Mexico
