The Role of Environment on Pacific Oyster Resilience

This project is investigating how specific marine environments (deep-water versus intertidal) may shape the resilience/susceptibility of the Pacific oyster to various drivers of summer mortality.  Bags of oysters have been deployed in deep-water sites and inter-tidal sites across Baynes Sound to test the use of the intertidal zone as a mechanism to promote physiological resilience and/or offer refuge from summer mortality.
