Brown intertidal spaghetti worm, Eupolymnia heterobranchia

Habitat: Found intertidally under rocks, in course sand.

Description: The body is green to brown, up to 13 cm long, with brown, spaghetti-like feeding tentacles. The worm forms a parchment-like tube which is strengthened with sand and bits of shell.

Distribution: Alaska to Mexico

Fun Fact: Thin tentacles extending from the entrance to the tube give away the hiding place of this worm.
