ITCH Medieval Madness play

Join us for our Inclusive Theatre Collective's production of "Medieval Madness", an original script by student Ceridwen Nord. In this witty whodunit, kings and knights, processes and pals try to figure out who is the culprit. In this fun farce, students take on both performance and technical roles.

Research and Creative Activity Symposium

Join this celebration that showcases scholarship, research and creative activity at VIU. 

At this half-day event, VIU employees will share the projects they are pursuing in various formats of 15-minute presentations and posters. This is a great way to learn about the many and various projects underway and identify potential collaborators who share your interests. The event is designed to allow individuals to join sessions of interest.

Information Technology & Applied Systems (ITAS) Student Project Fair

The Information Technology & Applied Systems (ITAS) students are hosting the first ITAS Student Project Fair on April 17. There will be a variety of projects that include web applications, games, remote control vehicles, an auto-sensing turret, an automated watering system and a home server system.

The Oyster is our World - Deep Bay Research Showcase

Join us as we celebrate research related to Deep Bay, Aquaculture and marine species at this special free event! Enjoy food and wine (for purchase) while listening to VIU faculty, staff and students present their research overlooking scenic Baynes Sound. Boat, lab and beach tours will also be offered.

A free shuttle will be provided for anyone wishing to come from VIU's Nanaimo campus.

Research and Creative Activity Symposium

Join this celebration and showcase of scholarship, research and creative activity at VIU. The day will begin with a panel presentation by Dr. Deborah Saucier and Dr. Michael Quinn who will share their perspectives on the role of SRCA at VIU. Throughout the day, VIU employees will share the projects they are pursuing in various formats including 15-minute presentations, posters and short 3-minute slams. This is a great way to learn about the many and varied projects underway and identify potential collaborators who share your interests.

BioBlitz

Join us on our first annual Intertidal BioBlitz! We are collecting data from all around the shores of the Salish Sea. We are looking for citizen scientists of all ages to head to the shore and document the biodiversity you discover! It's free to participate, just download iNaturalist onto your phone or tablet and get started.
