Commercial Kitchen

As part of the BC Food Hub Network, the Centre for Seafood Innovation offers a shared kitchen space to help small food businesses access the facilities and resources they need to innovate and grow.

CSI KitchenOur provincially inspected commercial-grade kitchen is available to rent on a daily, weekly or longer-term basis. This 2,000-square-foot facility contains:

  • Two high-end culinary ovens
  • Commercial induction range
  • 5 sinks (2 x 2-bay washing stations)
  • Coolers and freezers (reach-in)
  • Dry storage (in kitchen)
  • Commercial dishwasher
  • Stainless countertops
  • Prep stations
  • Audio-visual equipment for training purposes

CSI KitchenOur kitchen is well suited to creating institutional products, preparing seafood-based meals and snacks, developing bench-top products. It is also ideal for demonstrating new recipes and culinary techniques in-person or virtually via our AV system.

Requirements

  • Proof of WorkSafe BC coverage
  • Proof of Food Safe certification
  • Short-term user contract
  • Seek approval to obtain Food Premises Operating permit from Island Health
