Global Leadership researcher focused on models and systems for intercultural collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples for mental, spiritual and planetary health. Extensive research on the traditional knowledge, philosophy and practices of Indigenous entheogenic medicine. Her most extensive research has been on the traditional knowledge, philosophy and practices of entheogenic medicine and land-based healing practices among Indigenous Peoples of Mexico and Peru.
She is experienced working in Indigenous contexts and bridging intercultural partnerships and has experience developing cultural recovery projects, and knowledge translation for diverse audiences.
Jimena is an Indigenous Health Research Facilitator for the British Columbia Network Environment for Indigenous Health Research, organization that supports Indigenous-led Health Research and scholars in BC, and has been a foundational partner for the Naut sa mawt Center for Psychedelic Research.
Jimena is the lead for intercultural collaboration at the NCPR.
During 2023, she led a Participatory Action Research to develop a Research and Ethics Framework and a Relational Leadership Model that promotes the inclusion of Indigenous methodologies in Psychedelic Research.
