VIU is predominantly an undergraduate university. However, we do not equate this with ‘no research potential’. Both students and faculty benefit immensely when students are engaged in SRCA. However, undergraduates (and many graduates) require a large amount of support to make their contributions meaningful. This session will present a number of VIU support mechanisms which allow faculty to encourage and reap the benefits of student SRCA engagement. Come and share your experiences and learn more ways to successfully engage your students in Scholarship, Research and Creative Activity!

Increasingly, universities are expected to help address complex issues by engaging with key stakeholders outside of the academy through mutually beneficial partnerships that produce and apply knowledge.
