World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.

Orange Shirt Day

September 30th has been declared Orange Shirt Day annually, in recognition of the great harm the residential school system did to children's sense of self-esteem and well-being, and as an affirmation of our commitment to ensure that everyone around us matters.

Labour Day

Labour Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of Canadian workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions that workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples

The International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples is observed by the United Nations on 9 August each year, to raise awareness and protect the rights of the world’s indigenous population.

Eid Al-Adha

Also known as the Feast of Sacrifice or Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates accomplishment.  Eid al-Adha serves as a reminder of when Ibrahim (Abraham) was willing to sacrifice his son to God, according to Islamic belief.
