VIU student studying in the campus library

Community through Communications

As part of the Office of Graduate Studies' Lunch & Learn Series we invite VIU's Graduate Student Scholars to give a talk on an aspect of their research or internship to help develop what we call 'power skills' - nothing soft about them.

Pancommunications.com sums up why public speaking is important:

  1. To win over the crowd
  2. To motivate people
  3. To inform

And we agree. Only we would add one more: To grow community.
