VIU Regional Engagement and Learning Field Trip to Saysutshun

Are you looking to establish collaborative relationships with community partners in the VIU region?

VIU Faculty and Staff are invited to join the Scholarship, Research and Creative Activity (SRCA) Office for exciting and informative regional community engagement field trips.

These REAL trips are designed to provide opportunities to explore the VIU region in order to learn about local priorities, initiatives and opportunities for stronger collaboration. The goal is to provide a space for the reciprocal exchange of ideas that enable community based learning and research opportunities to emerge between VIU and a variety of community partners.

Past Field Trips have included:

  • Health and Resilience Approaches in the Cowichan Region
  • Innovation and entrepreneurship in the Powell River Region
  • VIU Engagement in the Deep Bay / Parksville Region
  • Exploration of Saysutshun (NewCastle) Island Video
  • Exploration of the Mt. Arrowsmith Biosphere Region
