Resources for Animal Users

Any vertebrate animal used in teaching or research activities associated with Vancouver Island University must be done so in accordance with VIU's policy and procedures on Animal Care. Faculty members and other employees, as well external researchers and teachers using animals housed at Vancouver Island University, must have their protocols approved by the VIU Animal Care Committee prior to commencing the project. This ensures that any use of vertebrate animals is done so in accordance with the guidelines set out by the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC).

Below are links to information and forms that can help individuals who need Animal Care Committee approval for their teaching or research activities.
